July Reading List

Some of these were actually read in June; I just didn’t have a chance to add them to the post.

  • The MacKenzies, Liliana Hart – This is a bundle of the first 5 novellas in the series: Dane, Thomas, Riley, Cooper, and A MacKenzie Christmas.  All fall under the premise of love at first sight and several fall under romantic suspense.
  • Choices, Jamie Klaire – An erotica short that is interactive.  At key junctures of the story, the reader can choose which way to go.
  • Long Time Gone, Lorelei James – A novella with the Rough Riders series, telling the story of Kimi West and Calvin McKay, parents of Kade and Kane.
  • More than a Billionaire, Christina Tetreault – Sherbrookes of Newport; childhood friends get reaquainted with so much more.
  • When Darkness Ends, Alexandra Ivy – Guardians of Eternity; The final chapter in the battle against all that is evil focusing on Cyn (vampire) and Fallon (Chatri princess).
  • Against the Tide, Kat Martin – Brodies of Alaska; Rafe and Olivia explore their attraction while trying to sort out the details behind a friend’s murder.
  • Ravaged, Elizabeth Naughton – Eternal Guardians & 1001 Dark Nights; Daphne (nymph and Siren wannabe) is tasked with seducing and assassinating the thought to be dead Argonaut Aristokles.

Hot and Steamy

Of course, everyone needs a little heat tossed in here and there with the history lessons.

  2. Stroked: A Wife Sharing Story – Victoria Eastlake – When the Judge has a debilitating stroke, he enlists the help of a brawny Alaskan neighbor to help please his younger wife.
  3. My Stepbrother, the Billionaire, and the Bargain, Part 1 – Stephanie Brother – Blake and Jenna meet by chance only to discover they are to become step-siblings.  For years, they tolerate each other, until he needs her to save his fortune.
  4. Saved by my Stepbrother – Candi Lace – Milly naively attends a graduation party only to get ambushed by the mean popular kids. Her stepbrother Jamie comes to her rescue and shows her how much she is loved.
  5. Wet for my STEP – Charlotte Union – Sara is spending the summer as the personal assistant for her billionaire step-brothers, only they want it to be about more than just business.
  6. Stepbrother Frat – Stephanie Brother – Karla is starting to regret going Greek, especially when stepbrother Derek wants to be more than just siblings.
  7. Peeking – Jamie Klaire – After leaving the blinds open in the bathroom, an invitation is left to watch a peepshow of her own.
  8. Best Friend’s Little Brat – Kirt Kinkly – Middle-aged King gets seduced by his best friend’s young daughter.  This needs some serious time with an editor.
  9. Desolation: Motorcycle Club – C.C. Davenport – Natalie meets Eli when he comes to her rescue at the all-night diner where she waitresses.
  10. Taken for the Ride – Cerise Lush – While on a bus trip to care for her ailing mother, Jordan is reacquainted with her father’s former best friend in a way she never would have imagined.
  11. Ridden Hard and Put Up Wet – Jamie Klaire – part of the Swingin’ D Ranch series. Rose’s friend Callie is coming off a breakup and as a birthday present, Rose gives her a free week at the ranch. With the help of Chance and Ace, she’s able to forget all about the past and revel in a week of bliss.
  12. Carnal Lust – Kelly Love – Stacy sleeps around after the abusive relationship she previously had. Then her boss Marcy comes into the picture and Stacy realizes it might be time to try again.
  13. Belonging to the Bear – Lisa James – Running from an obsessive ex, Amanda takes a ranching job in Oregon where she meets Nick who does his best to hide his true self from her.
  14. Werehipsters – Stikki Minaj – A surreal shifter short.  Dalia is taken as Zane and Leo’s mate, but their species is baffling.
  15. Shared on my Husband’s Birthday – Jamie Klaire – Newlyweds explore their kink in public and in the setting of a swingers club.
  16. Seduced – Jamie Klaire – Rose has an unexpected encounter with a Marine while at the masquerade ball.
  17. Claimed by the Cowboys 2 – Jamie Klaire – Swingin’ D Ranch series. This is Rose’s first Saturday with the twins, experiencing the third part of their money making enterprise.

Quick and Dirty

Okay, I’m back with more panty-wetting short stories.  Most of the paranormal stuff I read this much was intense so I used these to balance it out!

  1. Dr. Mason and Stanley Clinic for Inner Health – Jax Lusty – Part 1 of a 4 part series.  Edith starts her new job with the good doctors and experiences first hand some of their procedures.
  2. My Boss My Lover – Rachel Pierre – Julie and her boss Brad finally quit dancing around each other only for Julie’s bubble to get burst over a misunderstanding.
  3. My Fraternity Big Brother – Natasha Palmer – A college freshman joins a fraternity and discovers his true self through a series of life-changing events.
  4. Tested by Doctor – Ginny Lacey – Part 3 of the Whole Body Clinic series.  Betsy is treated by Dr. Fillmore for her rich, entitled girl boredom.
  5. Stuffed by Doctor – Ginny Lacey – Part 4 of the Whole Body Clinic series.  Married Brittney undergoes treatment with Dr. Wideman at her husband’s request.
  6. Kitchen Capers – Jamie Klaire – You’d be amazed at what happens in the kitchen after everyone goes to sleep.
  7. Best Friend’s Bride – Kirt Kinkly – After Rachel learns how her fiance really feels about her, she turns to Chase who can’t say no. (needs a lot of editing)
  8. My Step-stitute Teacher – Emma Hayle – Dani’s step-brother Brian happens to be the substitute teacher in her Spanish class.  Lucky for her she needs some extra tutoring and he’s just the person to give it to her.
  9. The Governor and His Daughter’s Best Friend – Kirt Kinkly – After his family has a meltdown, the governor is left to play house with his daughter’s best friend Emily.
  10. Forbidden: Right and Wrong: My Little Princess – Kirt Kinkly – The stepdaughter plays the coy seductress and who is Daddy to refuse what she’s offering?
  11. Stepbrother: Alpha Billionaire – Stephanie Brother – Cassie has lusted after Felix since they first met.  Then their parents meet and eventually marry, making Felix off-limits…or is he?
  12. Seduced by Him – Elle Spencer – Billionaire Boss series book 1. Ansiley has worked and lusted after Jeremy for nearly a year.  They’ve kept things respectable until a colleague disrespects her in front of Jeremy, and now all bets are off as he claims her for his own.
  13. The Alpha’s Star – D. D. Clark – Chelsea wants to get into acting and who better to give her a big break than her stepdad with an X-rated audition?
  14. Caught with the Cowboys – Jamie Klaire – Swinging D Dude Ranch short story.  Kevin and Cade give Rose some fireworks of her own during the Fourth of July celebration, paying no heed to those sitting nearby.
  15. My Taboo Bodyguard – Sasha Marcos – Famous actress Jenna had alienated herself when it comes to her personal security options.  Then Mom calls Jenna’s estranged step-brother Nick who is more than willing to keep Jenna safe and in line.
  16. Chance Her Stepbrother – Saffron Daughter – Cassie and Chase graduate from the same school, but neither of their parents are present for the ceremony. They hookup only to discover later that their parents got married in Vegas the day before!  How will they handle a two week trip in close quarters with the ever-squabbling parents?
  17. Pleasing the Stranger – Raine Lovelace – Part 1 of the Kelly Files.  Kelly wins a single ticket to an outdoor concert and hooks up with a mysterious unidentified stranger.
  18. Behind the Counter – Anwen Stiles – Part 1 of Frisky Business, Open 24 Hours. Tasha works the night shift at her uncle’s convenience store.  To keep from going crazy from boredom, she engages in games with random strange men.
  19. Stud Ranch – P.S. Love – Vicky and Kristi spend a weekend at a ranch/resort that caters to pleasuring women.
  20. Laid for the Grade 2 – Sasha Shivers – Lexi has been trading sex for grades.  What started as a once a week deal is now on demand all the time.  She finds a replacement in Adrianna, but when it comes right down to it, can she really give it up?
  21. Taboo Times Two – Amusement Park – Emma Hayle – Aaron and Donald have their way with their step-sister while on a dark amusement park ride.
  22. Forbidden Game – Claudia Fox – Candice and her stepbrother Cameron are stranded at the family lake house where they engage in a risque game of truth or dare.
  23. Step: Obsessed – Isabella Swann – Ethan is obsessed with his stepdaughter Jessica.
  24. My Step’s Needs – Charlotte Union – Part 3 of Steamy Billionaire Dark Romance.  McHale has brought stepsister Leigh back home on his father’s demand where the older man presents her with an ultimatum that affects both siblings.

The Bookshelf of Shame

Usually I read mainstream romances whether they are romantic suspense, paranormal romances, or something along those lines where there’s a story being developed along with two (or maybe three) people embarking on a relationship.  But once in a while, my alter ego takes over and wants to read erotica with little or no plot which is what happened today.

For the most part, there wasn’t much of a story line to any of these and they were short; they could be read in about an hour or less.  Their purpose was to get the reader all hot and bothered, and they did what they set out to do.  Some were better written and a couple really needed to be proofread and edited before they were uploaded.

  • Corrupted by My…: A Taboo Short – Emma Hayle – Younger sister spies on older sister.
  • Playing Mr. Baily’s Game – Katrina Millings – Hired help seduces the husband.
  • Claimed by the Cowboys – Jamie Klaire – Female and two cowboys who are brothers.
  • Lusty Leprechaun – Alexis Ayres – Woman is dumped by longtime boyfriend only to get seduced by the boss.
  • Ravished by the Pack – Sara Page – Female werewolf goes into heat and it takes four male wolves to cool her jets.
  • Filled by the Doctor – Ginny Lacey – Doctor-patient sex.
  • Amy’s Prescription – Connie Cliff – Another variation of the doctor-patient scenario.
  • Wicked Stepbrother – Sasha Marcos – Her mom marries his dad and they can’t keep their hands off each other.
